Important Update! Please Read

This school year has been different.  In other words, what’s new.  I’ve decided to follow my initial schedule, but have a looser approach.  A lot of our studies, we finish early.  I end up finding work to do for the rest of the year.  Math was different, we worked none stop the last month and half of school (April/May).  Since we are starting the ixl.com program sooner than I found it.  I’m hoping we won’t have that issue.

In the future, I won’t be posting as regularly. If people enjoy to see what happens in a day, PLEASE REPLY OR LIKE MY POSTS!.  Otherwise, I assume no one is reading them and not as necessary to maintain.

Thanks!  Hope to hear from you.

School day 8AM - 4PM (extra-curricular 11 AM)

Note: The kids were acting sick yesterday.  Truthfully, it seems like the “sickness” hasn’t gone away all summer.  I’m thinking they are allergies.  Needless to say, my middle child took a four hour nap.  I like that about home-schooling.  If they are sick, you can still work, but also let them rest when they need to.

School day 8AM - 4PM

Note: The beginning of the week is where I’m getting the most done.  It is harder this year to start in August.  It has been such a short summer.  I felt like we hardly had any time off, with camps and vacations.  I kind of want to do nothing this month, but don’t want to fall behind my traditional schooler.  It is hard to do home-schooling when another child doesn’t “have to”.

Note: Thursdays and Fridays might be combined postings this year.  We are doing a co-op.  The first time in ten years.  It takes a lot out of me to teach, prepare, get there, etc.  I noticed Friday I was pretty wiped out.  I planned for a easier day on Fridays, but may have to move the Poetry/Art to Wednesdays.

First Day of School

School day 8AM - 4PM

Note: I typically don’t like to start at the end of the week, but trying to follow the traditional school calendar.  I’m in the unique position of having children in “typical” school and home-school.  This year, I’m doing a more formal pre-school program with a middle school program.  It is an experiment to mesh the two together.
